Synopsis

The Adobe Audition instance installed on the remote host is affected by a memory leak vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Audition installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 14.4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB21-62 advisory.

- Adobe Audition version 14.2 (and earlier) is affected by an out-of-bounds read vulnerability when parsing a specially crafted file. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to disclose arbitrary memory information in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2021-36003)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Audition version 14.4 or later.
