Synopsis

The remote web server is affected by an authentication bypass vulnerability.

Description

An authentication bypass vulnerability exists in the VMware Carbon Black App Control management server. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this to bypass authentication and execute arbitrary actions with administrative privileges.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to VMware Carbon Black App Control 8.5.8, 8.6.2, or later, or apply the relevant hotfix.
