The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-2747 advisory.

- ircII before 20210314 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault and client crash, disconnecting the victim from an IRC server) via a crafted CTCP UTC message. (CVE-2021-29376)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the ircii packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 20151120-1+deb9u1.
