Synopsis

The Windows app installed on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The Windows 'MPEG-2 Video Extension' app installed on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to bypass authentication and execute unauthorized arbitrary commands.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to app version 1.0.42152 or later via the Microsoft Store.
