Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-2743 advisory.

- Systems with microprocessors utilizing speculative execution and indirect branch prediction may allow unauthorized disclosure of information to an attacker with local user access via a side-channel analysis.
(CVE-2017-5715)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the amd64-microcode packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 3.20181128.1~deb9u1.
