Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-2793 advisory.

 - In Eclipse Mosquitto version from 1.0 to 1.4.15, a Null Dereference vulnerability was found in the Mosquitto library which could lead to crashes for those applications using the library. (CVE-2017-7655)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the mosquitto packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 1.4.10-3+deb9u5.
