The remote PAN-OS host is affected by a vulnerability

Description

The version of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS running on the remote host is 8.1.x prior to 8.1.20-h1 or 9.0.x prior to 9.0.14-h3 or 9.1.x prior to 9.1.11-h2 or 10.0.x prior to 10.0.8 or 10.1.x prior to 10.1.3. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability.

 - An OS command injection vulnerability in the Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS command line interface (CLI) enables an authenticated administrator with access to the CLI to execute arbitrary OS commands to escalate privileges. (CVE-2021-3061)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to PAN-OS 8.1.20-h1 / 9.0.14-h3 / 9.1.11-h2 / 10.0.8 / 10.1.3 or later
