Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of log4j-cve-2021-44228-hotpatch installed on the remote host is prior to 1.1-13. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2021-1732 advisory.

- The Apache Log4j hotpatch package starting with log4j-cve-2021-44228-hotpatch-1.1-12 will now explicitly mimic the permissions of the JVM attempting to be updated. (ALAS2-2021-1732)

Note that this advisory was updated on 2022-04-18 with a new fixed version 1.1-13.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update log4j-cve-2021-44228-hotpatch' to update your system.
