Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-2873 advisory.

- aria2c in aria2 1.33.1, when --log is used, can store an HTTP Basic Authentication username and password in a file, which might allow local users to obtain sensitive information by reading this file.
(CVE-2019-3500)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the aria2 packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 1.30.0-2+deb9u1.
