Synopsis

Adobe Photoshop installed on remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Photoshop installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 22.5.5/23.1.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the apsb22-08 advisory.

- Adobe Photoshop versions 22.5.4 (and earlier) and 23.1 (and earlier) are affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability due to insecure handling of a crafted file, potentially resulting in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction in that a victim must open a crafted file in Photoshop. (CVE-2022-23203)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Photoshop version 22.5.5/23.1.1 or later.
