Synopsis

The remote AlmaLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote AlmaLinux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALSA-2021:4339 advisory.

- In GNOME grilo though 0.3.13, grl-net-wc.c does not enable TLS certificate verification on the SoupSessionAsync objects it creates, leaving users vulnerable to network MITM attacks. NOTE: this is similar to CVE-2016-20011. (CVE-2021-39365)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected grilo and / or grilo-devel packages.
