Adobe Creative Cloud < 2.7.0.15 Arbitrary code execution (APSB22-11)

high Nessus Plugin ID 157902

Synopsis

The Adobe Creative Cloud instance installed on the remote host is affected by an arbitrary code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Creative Cloud installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 2.7.0.15. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB22-11 advisory.

- Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop version 2.7.0.13 (and earlier) is affected by an Uncontrolled Search Path Element vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.
Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must download a malicious DLL file.
The attacker has to deliver the DLL on the same folder as the installer which makes it as a high complexity attack vector. (CVE-2022-23202)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Creative Cloud version 2.7.0.15 or later.
