Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-2973 advisory.

- A DNS rebinding issue in ReadyMedia (formerly MiniDLNA) before 1.3.1 allows a remote web server to exfiltrate media files. (CVE-2022-26505)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the minidlna packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 1.1.6+dfsg-1+deb9u2.
