Synopsis

The Adobe Character Animator instance installed on the remote host is affected by an arbitrary code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Character Animator installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 22.4, 4.4.7. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB22-21 advisory.

- Adobe Character Animator versions 4.4.2 (and earlier) and 22.3 (and earlier) are affected by an out-of- bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious SVG file. (CVE-2022-28819)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Character Animator version 22.4, 4.4.7 or later.
