Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3019 advisory.

- ADMesh through 0.98.4 has a heap-based buffer over-read in stl_update_connects_remove_1 (called from stl_remove_degenerate) in connect.c in libadmesh.a. (CVE-2018-25033)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the admesh packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 0.98.2-3+deb9u1.
