Synopsis
The remote Amazon Linux AMI host is missing a security update.Description
The version of xmlrpc-c installed on the remote host is prior to 1.22.04-r1934.7. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS-2022-1585 advisory.- xmltok_impl.c in Expat (aka libexpat) before 2.4.5 lacks certain validation of encoding, such as checks for whether a UTF-8 character is valid in a certain context. (CVE-2022-25235)
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
