Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLED_SAP15 / SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:1925-1 advisory.

- A double free exists in the another_hunk function in pch.c in GNU patch through 2.7.6. (CVE-2018-6952)

- In GNU patch through 2.7.6, the following of symlinks is mishandled in certain cases other than input files. This affects inp.c and util.c. (CVE-2019-13636)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected patch package.
