Synopsis

The remote EulerOS Virtualization host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the numpy packages installed, the EulerOS Virtualization installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 Buffer overflow in the array_from_pyobj function of fortranobject.c in NumPy 1.19, which allows attackers to conduct a Denial of Service attacks by carefully constructing an array with negative values.(CVE-2021-41496)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS Virtualization numpy security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected numpy packages.
