Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-5571-1 advisory.

 Sven Klemm discovered that PostgreSQL incorrectly handled extensions. An attacker could possibly use this issue to execute arbitrary code when extensions are created or updated.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
