Synopsis

The remote AlmaLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote AlmaLinux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALSA-2022:7618 advisory.

 - GStreamer before 1.18.4 might access already-freed memory in error code paths when demuxing certain malformed Matroska files. (CVE-2021-3497)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected gstreamer1-plugins-good and / or gstreamer1-plugins-good-gtk packages.
