Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.02, has libarchive packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

 - read_header in archive_read_support_format_rar.c in libarchive 3.3.2 suffers from an off-by-one error for UTF-16 names in RAR archives, leading to an out-of-bounds read in archive_read_format_rar_read_header.
 (CVE-2017-14502)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL libarchive packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
