Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS / 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-5725-1 advisory.

Diederik Loerakker, Jonny Rhea, Ral Kripalani, and Preston Van Loon discovered that Go incorrectly handled certain inputs. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Go applications to hang or crash, resulting in a denial of service.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected golang-1.13, golang-1.13-go and / or golang-1.13-src packages.
