Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:4457-1 advisory.

- A flaw was found in libtpms. The flaw can be triggered by specially-crafted TPM 2 command packets containing illegal values and may lead to an out-of-bounds access when the volatile state of the TPM 2 is marshalled/written or unmarshalled/read. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability. (CVE-2021-3623)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libtpms-devel and / or libtpms0 packages.
