Synopsis

The remote AlmaLinux host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote AlmaLinux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the ALSA-2023:0957 advisory.

 - Stack overflow in lua_resume of ldo.c in Lua Interpreter 5.1.0~5.4.4 allows attackers to perform a Denial of Service via a crafted script file. (CVE-2021-43519)

 - Use after free in garbage collector and finalizer of lgc.c in Lua interpreter 5.4.0~5.4.3 allows attackers to perform Sandbox Escape via a crafted script file. (CVE-2021-44964)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected lua, lua-devel and / or lua-libs packages.
