Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 11 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dsa-5373 advisory.

- A code execution vulnerability exists in the Statement Bindings functionality of Ghost Foundation node- sqlite3 5.1.1. A specially-crafted Javascript file can lead to arbitrary code execution. An attacker can provide malicious input to trigger this vulnerability. (CVE-2022-43441)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the node-sqlite3 packages.

For the stable distribution (bullseye), this problem has been fixed in version 5.0.0+ds1-1+deb11u2.
