Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of busybox installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2021-42374 advisory.

- An out-of-bounds heap read in Busybox's unlzma applet leads to information leak and denial of service when crafted LZMA-compressed input is decompressed. This can be triggered by any applet/format that (CVE-2021-42374)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
