Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

The Dell BIOS on the remote device is missing a security patch and is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability due to improper input validation. A locally authenticated malicious user with admin privileges could exploit this vulnerability to perform arbitrary code execution.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the security patch in accordance with the vendor advisory.
