CBL Mariner 2.0 Security Update: sos (CVE-2022-2806)

Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of sos installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2022-2806 advisory.

 - It was found that the ovirt-log-collector/sosreport collects the RHV admin password unfiltered. Fixed in:
 sos-4.2-20.el8_6, ovirt-log-collector-4.4.7-2.el8ev (CVE-2022-2806)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
