Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 20.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6019-1 advisory.

It was discovered that Flask-CORS did not properly escape paths before evaluating resource rules. An attacker could possibly use this to expose sensitive information.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python3-flask-cors package.
