Synopsis

The remote web application server is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

Description

The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.
IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 is vulnerable to cross-site scripting. This vulnerability allows users to embed arbitrary JavaScript code in the Web UI thus altering the intended functionality potentially leading to credentials disclosure within a trusted session.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server versions 8.5.5.24, 9.0.5.16 or later or apply Interim Fix PH52785.
