Synopsis

The SysInternals Sysmon application installed on the remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The SysInternals Sysmon application installed on the remote host is missing a security update. It is, therefore, affected by the following vulnerability:

- An elevation of privilege vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to gain elevated privileges.
(CVE-2023-29343) Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to SysInternals Sysmon version 14.16 or later.
