Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of jdom installed on the remote host is prior to 1.1.3-6.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2045 advisory.

- An XXE issue in SAXBuilder in JDOM through 2.0.6 allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted HTTP request. (CVE-2021-33813)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update jdom' to update your system.
