Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 14.1.5.4 / 15.1.8.2 / 16.1.3.4 / 17.1.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K000132972 advisory.

- When DNS is provisioned, an authenticated remote command execution vulnerability exists in DNS iQuery mesh. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K000132972.
