Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6106-1 advisory.

 It was discovered that calamares-settings-ubuntu allowed creating the first user with a blank password, contrary to expectations.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected calamares-settings-lubuntu, calamares-settings-ubuntu-common and / or calamares-settings- ubuntustudio packages.
