Synopsis

An application running on a remote web server host is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability

Description

According to its self-reported version, Liferay Portal is affected by a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the App Builder module's custom object details page. This allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted payload injected into an App Builder custom object's Name field.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Liferay Portal 7.4.1 or later.
