Synopsis

Description

The version of Zoom Client for Meetings installed on the remote host is prior to 5.14.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ZSB-23012 advisory.

- Improper privilege management in Zoom for Windows, Zoom Rooms for Windows, and Zoom VDI for Windows clients before 5.14.0 may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable an escalation of privilege via local access. Users may potentially utilize higher level system privileges maintained by the Zoom client to spawn processes with escalated privileges. Users can help keep themselves secure by applying current updates or downloading the latest Zoom software with all current security updates from https://zoom.us/download . (CVE-2023-34120)

Solution

Upgrade to Zoom Client for Meetings 5.14.0 or later.
