Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 38 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2023-ab291ca614 advisory.

 - WebAssembly v1.0.29 discovered to contain an abort in CWriter::MangleType. (CVE-2023-27116)

 - An issue in the component hang.wasm of WebAssembly 1.0 causes an infinite loop. (CVE-2023-30300)

 - WebAssembly wat2wasm v1.0.32 allows attackers to cause a libc++abi.dylib crash by putting '@' before a quote (). (CVE-2023-31669)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected wabt package.
