Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of qpdf installed on the remote host is prior to 5.0.1-4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2099 advisory.

QPDF v8.4.2 was discovered to contain a heap buffer overflow via the function QPDF::processXRefStream.
This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted PDF file.

Run 'yum update qpdf' to update your system.
