Debian DSA-5454-1 : kanboard - security update

high Nessus Plugin ID 178328

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 12 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dsa-5454 advisory.

- Kanboard is project management software that focuses on the Kanban methodology. In versions prior to 1.2.31authenticated user is able to perform a SQL Injection, leading to a privilege escalation or loss of confidentiality. It appears that in some insert and update operations, the code improperly uses the PicoDB library to update/insert new information. Version 1.2.31 contains a fix for this issue. (CVE-2023-36813)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the kanboard packages.

For the stable distribution (bookworm), this problem has been fixed in version 1.2.26+ds-2+deb12u2.
