Synopsis
The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.Description
The version of libcap installed on the remote host is prior to 2.54-1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2136 advisory.- A vulnerability was found in the pthread_create() function in libcap. This issue may allow a malicious actor to use cause __real_pthread_create() to return an error, which can exhaust the process memory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
