Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for kpatch-patch.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2023:4230 advisory.

- kernel: use-after-free in l2cap_connect and l2cap_le_connect_req in net/bluetooth/l2cap_core.c (CVE-2022-42896)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL kpatch-patch package based on the guidance in RHSA-2023:4230.
