Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of libvncserver installed on the remote host is prior to 0.9.9-14. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2170 advisory.

- libvncclient v0.9.13 was discovered to contain a memory leak via the function rfbClientCleanup().
(CVE-2020-29260)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Run 'yum update libvncserver' to update your system.
