Synopsis

Citrix Secure Access formerly known as Citrix Gateway Plug-in for Windows installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

A privilege escalation vulnerability has been discovered in the Citrix Secure Access client for Windows which, if exploited, could allow an attacker with access to an endpoint with Standard User Account that has the vulnerable client installed to escalate their local privileges to that of NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.

Note that Nessus has not attempted to exploit these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Citrix Gateway Plug-in for Windows version 23.5.1.3, or later.
