Synopsis

The remote database server is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version number, IBM Db2 on Windows may be vulnerable to a privilege escalation caused by at least one installed service using an unquoted service path. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain elevated privileges by inserting an executable file in the path of the affected service.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate IBM DB2 Fix Pack or Special Build based on the most recent fix pack level for your branch.
