Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 10 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3517 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in pdfcrack 0.17 thru 0.18, allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a stack overflow in the MD5 function. (CVE-2020-22336)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the pdfcrack packages.

For Debian 10 buster, this problem has been fixed in version 0.16-3+deb10u1.
