Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 37 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FEDORA-2023-9fa8f29bb7 advisory.

 - ntpd will crash if the server is not NTS-enabled (no certificate) and it receives an NTS-enabled client request (mode 3). (CVE-2023-4012)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected ntpsec package.
