medium Nessus Plugin ID 180044

Language:

Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED12 / SLED_SAP12 / SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2023:3375-1 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in GNOME Evolution before 3.35.91. By using the proprietary (non-RFC6068) mailto?attach=... parameter, a website (or other source of mailto links) can make Evolution attach local files or directories to a composed email message without showing a warning to the user, as demonstrated by an attach=. value. (CVE-2020-11879)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected evolution, evolution-devel and / or evolution-lang packages.
