Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2008-0218 advisory.

 - gnome-screensaver before 2.22.1, when a remote authentication server is enabled, crashes upon an unlock attempt during a network outage, which allows physically proximate attackers to gain access to the locked session, a related issue to CVE-2007-1859. (CVE-2008-0887)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected gnome-screensaver package.
