Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 7 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2019-2097 advisory.

 - In Perl through 5.26.2, the Archive::Tar module allows remote attackers to bypass a directory-traversal protection mechanism, and overwrite arbitrary files, via an archive file containing a symlink and a regular file with the same name. (CVE-2018-12015)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected perl-Archive-Tar package.
