Synopsis

The remote Oracle Linux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2011-1005 advisory.

 - The init script (sysstat.in) in sysstat 5.1.2 up to 7.1.6 creates /tmp/sysstat.run insecurely, which allows local users to execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2007-3852)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected sysstat package.
